Many times, when people hear or consider the word blessing, the thought that comes to mind is, the Lord blessing them or someone else. However, blessings can go both ways. Simply put, we can bless the Lord even as the Lord blesses us!

In Psalm 34:1, King David vows to bless and praise the Lord at all times. He declares that he would bless the Lord at all times and his praise would continually be in his mouth. King David made it clear, that he would bless and praise the Lord whether he was sick or well, up or down, rich or poor, happy or sad, etc. David let it be known that he would not allow anything in his life, be it good or bad; to stop or hinder him from blessing and praising God. David understood that when we bless and praise the Lord, our focus is totally on him rather than ourselves.

As we assume this same attitude and approach in our lives that David did, we can experience a peace that only the Lord can give, despite any situation or circumstance we face! It is written in God’s Holy Word in Isaiah 26:3, “Thou will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee; because he trusteth in thee (KJV).” Therefore beloved brothers and sisters, remember that the Lord will not allow you to bless him, and he not bless you in return! He reciprocates the blessing. In other words, as you bless him, the Lord blesses you!
